The Treger Group is a fourth-generation family business specialising in the distribution
of lifestyle premium brands. These include designer watches and jewellery, as well as
apparel and other goods.
Ricky is a qualified chartered accountant, having completed his traineeship at PricewaterhouseCoopers after spending a period of time in New York obtaining operational experience. Ricky joined The Just Fun Group as managing director of Just Fun Sports and Just Baby. He has 10 years’ experience in the branded distribution business, and is the fourth generation of the Treger family to join the group.
After completing a Bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance at Wits University, Daniel completed his Honours degree in Financial Management at the University of Johannesburg. He then joined the Treasury department at Sasfin Bank in 2007 where he was the Treasury Investments Manager. Daniel joined the Treger Group in October 2011 and is the fourth generation of the Treger family to join the group.
Barney has over 40 years’ experience in the marketing and distribution of branded products to the retail industry. He was responsible for the conceptualisation and establishment of The Just Fun Group (Pty) Ltd., and was Group Chief Executive Officer. In this role, he distributed brands such as Mattel, Fisher Price, Marvel, Disney and Barbie amongst many others. He is now an Executive Director of the Treger Group.
Gary has been involved in the golfing and corporate promotions industry for over 40 years, achieving great success. As Treger Sports, he was the official merchandiser of the Nedbank Golf Challenge (previously, the “Million Dollar Challenge”) for 12 years, and was also involved in the organisation of the event. Gary joins the Treger Brands family as an Executive Director, overseeing the promotions division.
Stewart has 30 years’ experience in the watch industry, in both retail and wholesale distribution. Stewart’s expertise is in product, marketing and sales. Stewart entered the jewellery industry with the Foschini Group in 1989 as Sourcing Manager for the group. He then joined Anbeeco in 1997, beginning his affiliation with Seiko Watch Corporation. Anbeeco was acquired by Just Time in 2002, which is now a part of Treger Brands. As the Group’s Executive Director, Stewart has, for the past 20 years, been instrumental in building our watch brands to the standard they are today.
David was born into a watch and jewellery wholesale family: the Goodman Brothers were the first Omega distributors in South Africa, holding exclusive distribution rights for over 50 years. David worked at Goodman Brothers until the age of 30, whereupon he formed Sutherland and Goodman. Sutherland and Goodman were the exclusively distributors of Hirsch watch bracelets, before becoming the pioneer branded silver distribution company in South Africa with the introduction of Hot Diamonds, Thomas Sabo and Nomination. In 2013 David joined the Treger Group, with the formation of Treger Brands Jewellery Company.
Loren completed a Bachelors degree in Law and Psychology at Wits University, and a Marketing diploma through the IMM Graduate School of Marketing. She worked at Sony Music Entertainment (Pty) Ltd for 12 years reaching the position of Strategic Marketing Manager. Loren thereafter founded and successfully ran her own travel business for three years, which she then sold to return to her primary passion – marketing. Loren co-founded Treger Brands Jewellery Company with the Treger family.
Tammy began her career in retail and wholesale in South Africa in 1997 where she worked for the next 10 years at companies such as Sutherland and Goodman. In 2007 she embarked on a UK adventure, achieving great success as brand manager for a luxury watch import company based in London. In 2009, Tammy rejoined the Sutherland and Goodman business as brand manager for Thomas Sabo and Nomination. She has since successfully guided these brands to positions of market leadership in the branded silver jewellery industry in South Africa. In 2014 Tammy was appointed as a director of Treger Brands Jewellery Company.
Mark is the General Manager of Treger Brands Retail. He comes from a long line of jewellers in the retail environment in both South Africa and Australia. Mark managed his own retail store in Australia for 10 years, before relocating to South Africa in 2014 to join the management team of Treger Brands Retail.
Martine Van Flymen
Martine van Flymen has been working in the clothing and accessory industry for 35 years. Aside from Cream Magenta sleepwear and accessories (Skipper International) she has worked for and represented denim jean manufacturers, and invested in a hat factory. Her main focus is sourcing and selling various products and ideas to the major chains.
